In anticipation of Bloomsday and the Trieste Joyce School, where I am presenting a lecture entitled “Lucia Joyce, Dancer: Method in her ‘Madness’?”, I was delighted to speak about this extraordinary and important, but alas overlooked Irish Modern Dancer on BBC Front Row during the week.  As the Paris Times wrote, in 1928: “When she reaches her full potential for rhythmic dancing, James Joyce may yet be known as his daughter’s father”.  What could that “full potential” have consisted of? “What if”…  ?  More on Lucia’s Modern Dance career soon, but in the meantime, if of interest, you can listen back to our conversation on the BBC here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0b5qn86
