“Lucia Joyce: Full Capacity” made its UK premiere at Swansea’s Elysium Gallery, in esteemed experimental film company on the opening night of IFF International Film Festival on Wednesday August 12th at 7pm among artists Lily Dean, Shir Handelsman, Alexander Iasenko, and Behnaz Fahari (with her fabulous film “Can the Subaltern Speak?”).  I feel very much at home in this context, and was delighted that our film experiment was selected for this brilliant four day international experimental film festival.

Myself and Evanna Lynch also had the pleasure of taking part in the first episode of the great Declan Kiberd’s ThinkND Kylemore Bookclub “WB Yeats, James Joyce, and the Body” earlier the same day (6pm), sharing the film, and our thoughts on Lucia Joyce with the international book club participants via Zoom.  Our “body and mind” episode will be available as a podcast soon, and I will put the link up here.

Next up will be my contribution to Princeton’s Fund for Irish Studies, “Sweet Dancers.  An Illustrated Talk on Irish Dance”, hosted by poet Paul Muldoon via Zoom on September 18th 2020 (free, and all welcome!).  More details to follow.
