RTE Lyric FM will re-broadcast my BAI-funded feature radio documentary on Lucia Joyce to tie in with Bloomsday 2020, on Sunday June 14th at 6pm. This will tie in with further virtual events to be announced on Bloomsday itself, June 16th. Watch this space! In the meantime, here is the information on the radio documentary:
Reassessing the artistic significance and legacy of Lucia Joyce as an artist in her own right, with Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood in Harry Potter) as Lucia Joyce and a cast featuring Olwen Fouéré, Bairbre Ni Chaoimh, Michael James Ford and Elliot Moriarty.
Aligning Lucia’s promising modern dance career at the heart of 1920s Parisian avant-garde with Yeats’ & de Valois’ Abbey Theatre Ballets, we ask, what if the overlooked daughter of the famous writer had been allowed to fulfill her promise?
